Master Po Ping is the title character and the protagonist of the Kung Fu Panda franchise. He is a young anthropomorphic giant panda in his 20s, who is improbably chosen as the Dragon Warrior, champion of the Valley of Peace in the first film. He is the adoptive son of Mr. Ping and is one of Master Shifu's students. Po is also the prophesied Dragon Warrior, as well as the warrior of black and white. In Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, Po is revealed to have the ability to be able to learn kung fu at a glance.

Po is also the team leader of the Furious Five, although he is not properly part of as he is considered as a second master after Shifu to the Furious Five.

History with the Macy's Parade []

Po first appeared in the Macy's Parade in 2010 to help celebrate the release of the brand-new film, Kung Fu Panda 2. The balloon features Po doing a karate kick down the Parade route, as he stands at 42 feet tall, 46 feet long and 34 feet wide. He was retired after the 2012 Parade, and is unlikely to return, as no further installments of the Kung Fu Panda franchise have been announced.

In addition to appearing in the main Parade, he was taken on a six-city cross-country tour across America in 2011 to promote his new film. He started in Miami, FL on April 16th then moved to St. Louis, MO on April 22nd; Dallas, TX on April 30th; Chicago, IL on May 6th; Phoenix, AZ on May 14th; and finally, Los Angeles, CA on Memorial Day Weekend, just in time for the premiere of the movie.
